By using the Website, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Website.
When you create an account, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us, we may collect:
(a) Account information: Email address and password; (b) Preferences: Company watchlists, alert settings, and notification preferences; and (c) Communications: Any information you provide when contacting us, including feedback, bug reports, and support requests.
We do not collect your name, physical address, phone number, or payment information unless you voluntarily provide it in a communication to us.
When you visit the Website, we automatically collect certain information through cookies and similar technologies:
(a) Device and browser information: Browser type and version, operating system, device type, and screen resolution; (b) Usage data: Pages visited, time spent on pages, links clicked (including outbound affiliate links), referring URLs, and navigation paths; (c) Network information: IP address, approximate geographic location (city/region level, not precise location), and internet service provider; and (d) Performance data: Page load times, JavaScript errors, API response times, and other technical performance metrics.
We use cookies and similar technologies to collect the information described in Section 2.2. See Section 7 (Cookies) for details on the specific cookies we use, their purposes, and how to manage them.

We do not use your information to serve targeted advertising. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
We use the following third-party services that may collect or process your information:
We use Google Analytics 4 (“GA4”) to analyze how visitors use our Website. GA4 collects information about your visits, including pages viewed, time on page, referral sources, outbound link clicks, and general demographic and interest information.
Data collected: Device information, browser information, IP address (anonymized by default in GA4), pages visited, session duration, events (such as link clicks and page scrolls), and approximate geographic location.
How Google uses this data: Google processes this data on our behalf to generate aggregated analytics reports. Google may also use this data in accordance with its own privacy policy. For more information, see Google’s privacy policy.
IP anonymization: GA4 does not log or store full IP addresses by default. IP addresses are used for geographic analysis and then discarded.
Data retention: We have configured GA4 to retain user-level data for fourteen (14) months, after which it is automatically deleted from Google’s servers.
Opt out: You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also block Google Analytics cookies through your browser settings (see Section 7).
We use Sentry for error monitoring and performance tracking. When a technical error occurs on the Website, Sentry captures diagnostic information to help us identify and fix the issue.
Data collected: JavaScript error messages, stack traces, browser type and version, operating system, device type, page URL where the error occurred, and a truncated or anonymized IP address. Sentry may also capture breadcrumbs — a sequential log of user interactions (such as clicks, navigations, and console messages) leading up to an error — to help reproduce and diagnose issues.
What Sentry does not collect: Sentry does not collect your name, email address, passwords, financial information, or the content of any data you view on the Website. We have configured Sentry to scrub sensitive data from error reports before transmission.
Data processing: Sentry processes this data on our behalf for the sole purpose of error monitoring and performance improvement. For more information, see Sentry’s privacy policy.
Data retention: Error events are retained in Sentry for ninety (90) days, after which they are automatically deleted.
When you click on an affiliate link on our Website (such as links to TradingView or Finviz), you will be directed to a third-party website. That third party may place its own cookies and collect information in accordance with its own privacy policy. We may append tracking parameters (such as UTM parameters and affiliate identifiers) to outbound links for the purpose of measuring click-through rates and attributing affiliate commissions. These parameters identify that you arrived from averageinsider.com but do not contain any of your personal information.
We use a third-party email service provider to deliver our newsletter and email alerts. When you subscribe, your email address is shared with this provider solely for the purpose of delivering emails on our behalf. Our email service provider is contractually prohibited from using your email address for any other purpose.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
We share information with third-party service providers who process data on our behalf, as described in Section 4. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only for the purposes we specify and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to:
(a) Comply with a legal obligation, subpoena, court order, or government request; (b) Protect and defend our rights or property; (c) Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Website; or (d) Protect the personal safety of users or the public.
If Average Insider is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you. For example, we may publish statistics about overall Website traffic or the number of newsletter subscribers.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include but are not limited to:
(a) Encryption of data in transit using TLS/HTTPS; (b) Secure storage of account credentials using industry-standard hashing algorithms; (c) Access controls limiting employee and system access to personal information; and (d) Regular monitoring of our systems for security vulnerabilities.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
